The Multicultural Cinema Club has organized several film festivals that have been held at Kitchener City Hall. All film festivals are admission-free.

(15) The World in Kitchener

October 3 - October 7, 2011, 7pm daily at the Registry Theatre &
October 24 - October 28, 2011, 7pm daily at the Waterloo Region Museum

This film festival features 5 award-winning international films: In a Better World, Sophie Scholl: The Final Days, Women Without Men, Takva: A Man's Fear of God, and Of Gods and Men.

(14) Six Faces of Love

June 20-June 25, 2011, 7pm, at the Registry Theatre &
July 5-July 8, 2011, 7pm, at the Waterloo Region Museum

This admission-free film festival will feature 6 award-winning films: I Am Love, Uc Maymun (Three Monkeys), Cairo Time, Cherry Blossoms, Cloud 9, and Moscow Belgium.

(13) Local Focus 4

April 18 - April 23, 2011
Local Focus is a regional film contest organized by the Multicultural Cinema Club. Accepted films may win artist fees, Jury Awards, and People's Choice Awards. The festival aims to highlight the great work of local film-makers in feature, short, documentary, or animated films, as well as youth filmmakers. It also provides an opportunity for the public and local businesses to meet local film-makers, casts, and crews.
All films will be screened at the Registry Theatre (122 Frederick St., Kitchener). A closing celebration will be held at the Walper Hotel.

(12) Lunar New Year Film Series

February 1, 2, and 3, 2011
This film series celebrates the Chinese New Year with 3 acclaimed films from Asia: Mother (2009), Still Life (2006), and Tokyo Sonata (2008).
All films are screened at 7PM at Kitchener City Hall, Council Chambers.

(11) The People's International Film Festival

October 5th to October 9th, 2010
This film festival features six award-winning films produced all over the world: The Secret in Their Eyes (Argentina, 2009), Turtles can Fly (Iraq, 2004), Fish Tank (UK, 2009), Lemon Tree (Israel/Palestine, 2008), The Stoning of Soyaya M. (Iran, 2008), and A Prophet (France, 2009).
All films are screened at 7PM at Kitchener City Hall, Council Chambers.

(10) The World in Kitchener

June 22nd to June 27th, 2010
This film festival featured six award-winning films produced all over the world: The Baader Meinhof Complex (Germany), Departures (Japan), The Class (France), 12 (Russia), Days of Glory (Algeria), and Revanche (Austria).

(9) Local Focus 3

March 18th to March 21st, 2010
Local Focus is a regional film contest organized by the Multicultural Cinema Club. Accepted films may win artist fees, Jury Awards, and People's Choice Awards. The festival aims to highlight the great work of local film-makers in feature, short, documentary, or animated films, as well as youth filmmakers. It also provides an opportunity for the public and local businesses to meet local film-makers, casts, and crews.

(8) Theatre on Film

September 29th to October 3rd, 2009
Our 8th film festival will feature film adaptations of popular plays, including Doubt, Curse of the Golden Flower, Tape, Closer, and Stage Beauty. The films will be screened at Kitchener City Hall in the Council Chamber at 7:00pm each day.

(7) Iraq in Hollywood

June 16th to 21st, 2009
This free film festival featured six films made about the war in Iraq which were screened at Kitchener City Hall in the Council Chamber. The films include In the Valley of Elah and Iraq for Sale, among others.

(6) Local Focus 2

March 15 to March 22, 2009
Opening and closing ceremonies are will be held at the Walper Hotel on both Sundays. All films are screened in the Ktichener City Hall Council Chamber. Events start at 7:00pm daily.

This festival featured 12 short films and 4 feature lenth films made by and about Native Canadians. Films included Club Native and Tkaronto.
